BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan: As of January 2024, Kyrgyzstan’s passport has secured the third-best position among Central Asian countries, according to the VisaGuide.World Passport Index.

The Kyrgyz passport, ranking 132nd globally, allows citizens to travel visa-free to 27 countries, with Kazakhstan (110th) and Uzbekistan (129th) taking the lead in the region.

For visa-free travel, Kyrgyz citizens must possess a valid passport, typically with at least six months’ validity beyond their departure date. Additionally, travel health insurance is required, as stipulated by the destination country. While five countries offer eVisas to Kyrgyz passport holders, visas upon arrival are available for 33 countries. However, a valid visa is necessary for entry into 151 other nations.

The VisaGuide Passport Index employs the Destination Significance Score (DSS) to assess passports based on factors like entry requirements, GDP, safety, Human Development Index (HDI), and more. Kyrgyzstan’s passport scored 22.52 as of the beginning of January 2024.

The global passport ranking by VisaGuide.World places the Spanish passport at the top, followed by German, Singaporean, Italian, and French passports, forming the top five for the beginning of 2024. The VisaGuide World Passport Index evaluates and ranks passports from 199 countries and territories based on their overall strength and global travel access.
