ISLAMABAD: Kyrgyzstan’s ambassador to Pakistan Ulanbek Totuiaev Sunday stressed the need to fully exploit the existing economic and trade potentials between the two nations on priority to further boost regional economic integration.
presiding over a ceremony dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Kyrgyz Republic’s constitution, as well as the 95th anniversary of the People’s Author of Kyrgyzstan Chyngyz Aitmatov, the envoy said overall, the deep cultural heritage of our nations should also be spread among the people of Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
He said both nations are strongly interconnected and, with the right approach, can create a considerably efficient friendship and partnership for the benefit of people on both sides.
In this respect, he urged both sides to actively work and cooperate to grow bilateral relations on a qualitatively new level.
Ambassador on Kyrgyzstan’s history
He said Kyrgyzstan had a very deep and broad history and the Kyrgyz nation was considered to be one of the most ancient nations in the world.
He added that the earliest records about the ethnonym “Kyrgyz” were found in Chinese writings, which were written over 2200 years ago.
He said that at different times Kyrgyzstan was becoming a massive country, ruling in Central Asia and expanding its influence to the whole East Asian region.
He said both nations were bounded by strong historical links, the same religion as well a close culture. The founder of the Moghul Empire, Zahriddin Babur, originated from Kyrgyzstan.
Talking about Constitution, the envoy said that this document was the fundamental legal basis of the whole state, which defines the rules and principles of all the spheres, as well as its foreign policy.
Talking about the writer Chingiz Aitmatov, he stressed that his legacy is well-known across the world. His works are translated into about 174 languages and the whole circulation constitutes over 80 million copies. –APP
