KYIV: Ukraine defence forces shot down over a dozen drones during an overnight attack on Kyiv.
This is the second assault in as many days by the Russian forces.
Sergiy Popko who heads Kyiv civil and military establishment stated that air defence unit detected and destroyed 15 drones that attacked Kyiv for three hours.
So far, there is no report of fatalities and damage, said the official adding the alerts are there for residents to stay inside and under cover in shelters.
Russian forces are using Iran-assembled Shaheds Drones to attack Ukraine. The Wednesday night witnessed 10 drones shot down by the Ukraine air defence unit.
Russian forces also sent drones to Izmail port at Denube River which has warehouses for grain and like. Izmail is the key export route of Ukraine where it can send its grain to the world via Romania as grain agreement signed earlier is no longer in force.
