ISLAMABAD: Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said on Sunday that his country’s armed forces would not utilize new long-range weapons to hit targets in Russian territory. These weapons are set to be delivered by the West.
Speaking at a press meet, Reznikov said that on Friday (February 4), Ukraine’s partners made the decision to provide his country weapons that have the capability to fire at a range of 150 kilometers.
He added that Ukraine had always informed its allies it would strike the foreign partners’ weapons on target within Russia. Their use if against units of Russia that are at present under occupation in order to retake its own territory.

A new precision bomb that is propelled by rockets is part of the set of armament. The weapons provide Ukraine the means to target the whole of Donbas, which is currently under Russian occupation, along with Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, and also Crimea’s northern region.
Deliveries of mobile surface-to-air missile systems are expected to be made by Italy and France.
On Sunday (February 5), Bild am Sonntag published an interview with Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who said Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky accepted the condition of not using weapons provided by the West to attack Russia’s territory.
