KUWAIT: Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait has issued a decree authorizing Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah to serve temporarily as prime minister of the country, the Kuwait News Agency reported on Thursday.

He will stand in for PM Sheikh Mohammed Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, who has been assigned with taking on the duties of deputy Emir while Sheikh Mishal is out of the country.

Sheikh Mishal became Emir of Juwait in December after the death of his predecessor, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, at the age of 86, Arab media reported.
