KUWAIT CITY: The Kuwaiti Cabinet on Saturday nominated Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as the Emir of the State of Kuwait, succeeding the late Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwait News Agency reported.
In a statement released by the Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait’s government announced a three-day national holiday and a 40-day national mourning period to commemorate the late Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The Kuwaiti cabinet mourned the sad demise of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who passed away on Saturday.
According to Kuwait news agency, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs announced official mourning for 40 days and the closure of official departments for three days in honor of the late Emir.
