Kuwait Foreign Minister and US Congress Delegation Discuss Host of Issues

ISLAMABAD/ KUWAIT: The foreign minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has met with USA representatives from the House Committee on the Foreign Affairs and House Homeland Security Committee.

During their visit to Kuwait, the US delegation led Congressman David N. Cicilline, chair of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on North Africa, Middle East, North and Global Counterterrorism.

According to the Arab News, the meeting reviewed the two countries’ bilateral ties and cooperation, which are grown stronger over the past six decades.

Sheikh Salem praised his progress toward realizing shared aspirations in the economic, cultural, educational, and security fields.

The foreign minister said that the two countries collaborated to promote diplomatic relations and to share their counter-extremism and terrorism experience.

US representatives have reaffirmed the US’s commitment to Kuwait’s security and safety and expressed gratitude for its hosting of US troops.

They have also praised Kuwait’s humanitarian and diplomatic efforts to restore regional security and stability in recent years.

US representatives have emphasized the importance of promoting economic cooperation and exploring potential opportunities for joint investment, particularly in the energy sector.
