Kuwait Authorities Intercept $14.5m Worth of Illegal Drugs

ISLAMABAD/ DUBAI: The Kuwaiti authorities have foiled several attempts to smuggle drugs into the country.

According to the Arab News, prohibited substances included 1.2 million Captagon pills, 250 kilograms of hashish, and 104 kilograms of crystal meth, which, based on the 2019 price reported by the United Nations (UN) Office on Crime and narcotics. The seized items have a street value of $14.5 million.

The gulf country has been campaigning against the smuggling, selling, and use of illegal substances with smugglers attempting to bring in narcotics by land, air, and sea.
