KUWAIT: Kuwait has taken a significant step in the ongoing efforts to challenge the Israeli occupation of Palestine by submitting a written memo to the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The memo formally requests the ICJ to adopt an opinion on the consequences of continued Israeli occupation violations of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

Kuwait’s memo highlights the detrimental impact of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, stating that it undermines efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state and severely affects all aspects of life for the Palestinian people. In the memo, Kuwait expresses its opposition to the use of force in international relations, emphasizing the need to uphold states’ independence, sovereignty, and the protection of civilians.

Kuwait Seeks Peaceful Resolution of Conflict

The submission urges the ICJ to carefully consider the documents submitted by Kuwait, along with those from other countries and international organizations. Kuwait calls for an ICJ resolution to bring an end to the Israeli occupation, seeking a just and peaceful solution to the longstanding conflict.

Reiterating its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, Kuwait remains committed to all international efforts aimed at securing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
