RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has inked a cooperation deal with a civil society institution to implement the second phase of the return to school project in Yemen’s Hajjah, Hadramout, Abyan, Taiz, and Mayyun Island.
In total, 13,300 individuals are expected to benefit from the deal, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
KSrelief Assistant General Supervisor Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Baiz inked the deal at the center headquarters in Riyadh.
The deal stipulates equipping 95 classrooms, providing educational materials, such as school uniforms and bags, as well as creating jobs for low-income families (beneficiaries of previous training and empowerment projects) by having school bags manufactured locally.
The latest undertaking comes within the framework of a series of educational projects implemented by Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to foster a safe, educational environment in Yemen and ensure its sustainability in targeted parts by carrying out different activities.
Ksrelief Signs Cooperation Deal
Moreover, KSrelief also inked a cooperation deal with the International War and Disaster Victims Protection Association to operate the Prosthetic Limbs and Rehabilitation Center in Aden Governorate, from which 3,543 people would be benefitted.
Abdullah Al-Muallem, Director of the Health and Environmental Aid Department at Ksrelief, said in a statement that the deal aims to offer physical and functional rehabilitation services to individuals with special needs who have prosthetic limbs in order to help them find employment, to determine the treatment plan for every patient, individually, in order to fit each with the required prosthetic limb.
The deal is also aimed at improving the technical and professional capabilities of the medical crew by training them to tackle with specific cases and to reduce the migration of specialized medical personnel.
