KSrelief Launches Second Phase of Food Project in Port Sudan

PORT SUDAN: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched the 2nd phase of its food-security support project in Port Sudan, Sudan, for the year 2023, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Deputy envoy of Saudi Arabia to Sudan, Raafat bin Ahmed Sharaf, Sudan’s deputy commissioner for humanitarian aid, officials of local humanitarian organizations, and members from KSrelief, the SPA maintained.

The project aims to distribute about 300,000 food boxes benefiting around 1.8 million vulnerable displaced people and the host communities in Sudan, which include the Kassala, Red Sea, Gezira, Gedarif, Northern, River Nile, Blue Nile, Sennar, Khartoum and White Nile.

The project comes within the Saudi relief sea and air bridge operated through KSrelief, in implementation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz to assist the brotherly people of Sudan, and to reflect the noble humanitarian role played by Saudi Arabia towards brotherly and friendly nations, the SPA further said.
