KSrelief Launches Drive to Help People in Turkiye, Syria

RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Wednesday launched a charity drive to assist those affected by a devastating earthquake in Turkiye and Syria on Monday.

Reports said that more than 11,000 people have been killed in the deadliest earthquake in the two countries. The drive was launched through KSrelief’s Sahem Platform, and it will work with different Saudi ministries and agencies to assist the affected people in Turkiye and Syria.

According to the Arab media, donations can be made via the Sahem website and app, or via a bank account designated to the drive. The top official of KSrelief Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah said the drive includes the implementation of several programs, including the launch of an air bridge to deliver food, shelter, health, and logistical assistance to the quake-hit people.

Al-Rabeeah said that rescue and medical teams will travel to the affected countries and will also work with Saudi volunteers to ease the suffering of quake-hit people. He maintained that food, shelter, and health items will be sent as per the humanitarian needs identified by assessment teams.

Media reported that $6.7 million had been donated to the campaign since the announcement of the drive.
