BRASILIA: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has initiated a project to distribute 100 tons of dates in Brazil and neighboring South American states, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The project is launched in collaboration with the Federation of Muslim Associations of Brazil (FAMBRAS).
Saudi Ambassador to Brazil, Faisal Ghulam, on the occasion highlighted that the gift is a representation of the ongoing support offered by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, to support countries and individuals internationally by offering various types of humanitarian assistance.
The ambassador praised the important role played by KSrelief, stressing the strong bond of friendship between Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
Under the project, 100 tons of dates will be given to the neediest groups in 20 Brazilian states, as well as 12 other countries in South and Central America.
The assistance is part of the relief projects by Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, to provide food support to needy communities across the world.
