MOGADISHU: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has inaugurated several health and environmental projects in Somalia, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The SPA reported that the inauguration was attended by KSrelief Medical and Environmental Aid Department Director Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Muallem, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Ambassador to Somalia Ahmed Al-Mawlid, Somali Minister of Health Dr. Ali Haji Adam Abubakar, and several other top officials.
The National Blood Bank, the first of its kind in Somalia, was inaugurated in Mogadishu, supplying around 32 health facilities with blood of all types, the SPA added. The second phase of the project, which is to operate the kidney dialysis center in Mogadishu, was inaugurated. An artesian well and a water desalination plant were also constructed, the SPA said.

The help comes within the framework of a series of humanitarian and relief projects provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), represented by KSrelief, to support the affected as well as needy people in Somalia and improve health services, the SPA further reported.
