RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has conducted medical projects in Kyrgyz Republic, Mauritania and Yemen’s Socotra Archipelago Governorate, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
According to the SPA the KSrelief concluded a volunteer medical program for open-heart surgery and catheterization for adults in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.

The program ran from November 10 to 18 with the participation of 20 volunteers from various medical specialties.
The volunteer medical team carried out 18 open-heart surgeries and 94 therapeutic catheterization procedures during the campaign.
Meanwhile the Saudi aid-agency on Sunday implemented the Saudi Noor Voluntary Project to fight blindness and the diseases that cause it in the city of Rosso, Mauritania. The project is underway from November 17 to 24.
From the very start of the project, the volunteer medical team allied with the center has examined 1,245 cases, performed 40 surgical procedures, and gave 611 medications.
The project is an extension of the volunteer medical projects related to combating blindness and its causes provided by Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian wing, KSrelief.
The project is aimed to assist patients and individuals affected by eye diseases in needy countries and affected communities across the world.
The KSrelief with the participation of 17 volunteers from various medical specialties also implemented a medical project for pediatric surgery and urology in the Socotra Archipelago Governorate, during 12 to 19 November.
During the project KSrelief’s medical team conducted 372 tests for needy patients and performed 18 urinary surgeries and 12 other pediatric surgeries.
