KSRelief and OIC Inaugurate Humanitarian Projects in Somalia

MOGADISHU: The Prime Minister of Somalia, H.E. Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, presided over the inauguration of humanitarian projects funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre (KSRelief) through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The event, held in Mogadishu, witnessed the presence of dignitaries, including H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah and Amb. Tarig Ali Bakhiet, representing the OIC Secretary-General.

Amb. Bakhiet highlighted the enduring collaboration between OIC and KSRelief, emphasizing its significant impact on Somalia, particularly in health, education, and emergency relief. The partnership has been instrumental in implementing various projects, contributing to the well-being of the Somali people. He expressed gratitude to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for their unwavering commitment to global humanitarian efforts.

KSRelief’s initiatives in Somalia have focused on diverse projects, including the construction and equipping of educational and health facilities. Notable achievements include the construction of 15 schools, refurbishment of 18 others, and the establishment of health centers in Abudwak and Bir Jdid. Amb. Bakhiet praised KSRelief’s role in addressing multidimensional poverty in Somalia and emphasized the OIC’s dedication to strengthening its strategic partnership with KSRelief.

During the ceremony, KSRelief’s support to the Somali Ministry of Health was underscored, with the official delivery of 15 ambulances to address humanitarian and security challenges. The projects mark a continuation of the collaborative efforts between KSRelief and OIC, leaving a lasting impact on the Somali people. Amb. Bakhiet expressed optimism for the ongoing partnership and its future contributions to supporting Somalia.
