KSA Win ACC Men’s Challenger Cup Final

RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) cricket team won by 10 wickets against Bahrain in ACC Men’s Challenger Cup 2023 final at the Asian Institute of Technology Ground in Bangkok on Sunday. Bahrain scored just 26 runs against Saudi Arabia and failed to set a big target in the final match. Saudi Arabia easily posted a total of 30 runs for no loss in 4.1 overs.

The Asian Cricket Council tweeted, “KSA clinches the #ACCChallengerCup with an outstanding performance, defeating Bahrain cricket team by ten wickets,” It tweeted a truly fantastic victory, as they chase the target of 27 in just four overs. Congratulations to the team Saudi Arabia!”

Chairman of Saudi Arabian Cricket Federation, Prince Saud bin Mishal also extended congratulation to the team and said that the team Saudi Arabia, played excellent cricket, resulting in winning the trophy. He termed it a proud moment for the country and hoped that the team’s success would inspire the next generation of cricketers in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia’s star bowler Atif Ur Rehman has been given Man of the Match award for his dominant bowling spell of 4 wickets in 8 overs.

The KSA won the toss and decided to field first in the final match against Bahrain. Earlier, KSA beat Bhutan in the 1st semi-final while Bahrain overcame Thailand in the 2nd semi-final.
