SAO PAULO: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) will send a technical team to Costa Rica in the current month to take care of details concerning the opening of its embassy in San Jose, Arab media reported on Tuesday.
The two sides resumed diplomatic ties eight years ago and have since engaged in high-level exchanges between the officials, Arab News reported.
KSA will Open Embassy in Costa Rica
The announcement regarding the opening of the embassy was made on Monday during a meeting between Costa Rica’s Minister of foreign affairs and foreign trade and Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih.
Al-Falih’s trip is part of his visit to Latin American nations, accompanied by a large delegation of Saudi businessmen.
Costa Rican Foreign Minister Arnoldo Andre said Saudi Arabia is a strategic partner for its country with which collective actions are also planned in favor of the development environment and cooperation.”
Earlier, in June, Costa Rica and Saudi Arabia inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote commercial ties.
