RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed the Kingdom’s welcoming of the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of a resolution, in an overwhelming majority, which endorses that the State of Palestine is qualified for full membership in the UN and additional rights and privileges in accordance with Article 4 of the Charter of the UN and recommended that the UNSS positively reconsider this issue, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.
According to the SPA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that this decision clearly expresses the global consensus in favor of the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to establish their independent state on the basis of the two-state solution, saying that, while the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) appreciates the positive position of the nations that voted in favor of the resolution, it calls on the member states of the UNSC to assume their historical responsibility and refrain from obstructing the global consensus and stand up to the moral and legal right of the Palestinians.
