ISLAMABAD: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Minister for Investment Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih has said that Pakistan is second home for Saudis, adding Saudi Leadership holds Pakistan in highest esteem. According to PTV, the Minister said, “We are in Islamabad to explore business and investment opportunities of over 2 billion dollars in the country for the benefit and progress of both the countries”.
Speaking at the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Business Forum, he commended Pakistan’s initiatives and reforms, highlighting the formation of a special one-stop shop, a single-window system, and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) as pivotal factors in streamlining investment processes.
The Minister expressed optimism regarding the 27 agreements, amounting to $2 billion, likely to be signed during the current forum, with many more currently under negotiation, APP reported.
During this visit, over two dozen mutual agreements and important Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) are set to be signed.
Radio Pakistan reported that Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar expressed Pakistan’s firm commitment to working closely with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to explore the potential for cooperation in diverse sectors between the two nations.
Addressing Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Business Forum in Islamabad, Ishaq Dar said Pakistan offers a wide range of investment opportunities particularly in the areas of mines, IT, and minerals, renewable energy and agriculture.
In his remarks, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stated that Pakistan is at a good position on economic front and open to business. He also highlighted government policies aimed at strengthening the private sector to lead the nation’s business and economy.
Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Business Forum
Pakistan’s Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have deep historical relations. Referring to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, Dr. Musadik Malik has highlighted the Kingdom’s goals of achieving growth, indigenization, diversification, and innovation-driven, energy-intensive development.
The Minister thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation for visiting Pakistan, saying, “Our success is your success; together, we will bring about a revolution.”
Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce, Jamal Kamal Khan has said that Pakistani firms were well-positioned in order to contribute to and benefit from Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a transformative agenda, leveraging opportunities in IT services, construction, skilled labor, and agriculture.
Addressing the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Business Forum, he said, Vision 2030 aims to diversify the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s economy, expanding into sectors such as renewable energy, tourism, infrastructure, and technology.
He lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s visionary leadership in fostering cooperation, especially through Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s Vision 2030.
COAS Assures Saudi Delegation of Pakistan’s Full Support and Commitment
According to the military’s media wing, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al Falih accompanied by a high-level government cum business delegation, met with General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at Rawalpindi. The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, “His Excellency Khalid Bin Abdulaziz Al Falih, Minister of Investment, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, accompanied by a high-level government cum business delegation, met with General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at Rawalpindi”.
The ISPR said that the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, particularly initiatives to strengthen ever-growing brotherly bilateral cooperation in a variety of sectors.
According to the ISPR, “The COAS expressed his profound appreciation and gratitude for unflinching support for Pakistan from His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman. Manifestation of one of the largest business delegation’s visit to Pakistan reaffirms the enduring and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”.
The Army Chief underscored the deep respect and affection that the people of Pakistan hold for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
COAS further assured the delegation of Pakistan’s full support and commitment and conveyed his optimism for the promising outcomes that would mutually benefit both nations, the ISPR further said.
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Ties
Earlier, Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed desire to elevate Pakistan-Saudi relations into a long-term strategic and economic partnership, underscoring that such collaboration would bring the two brotherly countries further closer, a statement said on Thursday.
Talking to delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), led by Saudi Minister for Investment, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, in Islamabad, the President emphasized the longstanding and time-tested ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
President Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s deep respect for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and reiterated Islamabad’s unwavering commitment to stand in solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
Saudi Minister for Investment Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had planned to invest in the infrastructure and mining sectors of Pakistan and, in this connection, his delegation would ink twenty-five agreements in different sectors that would boost economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries. He hoped that the signing of the agreements would mark a new era of economic cooperation between the two nations.
