RIYADH: Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) board of directors Chairwoman Shaihanah bint Saleh AlAzzaz has visited the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva, Switzerland in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The SPA reported, during the trip, she met with WIPO Director General Daren Tang to discuss means to enhance cooperation and support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) international intellectual-property (IP) ambitions. The meeting also underscored the resolve to strengthening joint efforts between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and WIPO.
The trip included the signing of a deal for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to host the Diplomatic Conference to Conclude and Adopt a Design Law Treaty, to be held November 11 to 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

AlAzzaz also visited the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to the United Nations in Geneva, Abdulmohsen Majed bin Khothaila, according to the SPA.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) joined WIPO as a member in 1982. SAIP is also responsible for monitoring commitments and developments in various IP sectors, positively impacting IP activities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
