RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Foreign Ministry has announced that Riyadh is restoring diplomatic ties with Canada.
Riyadh announced the decision after a discussion between KSA’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Canadian Prime Minister on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum in Bangkok in 2022.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that in light of what has been discussed between HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, it has been decided to restore the level of diplomatic relations with Canada to its previous state. pic.twitter.com/zrPmhjskz7

KSA-Canada ties
The Ministry said that the desire of the Kingdom and Canada to restore diplomatic ties is based on mutual respect and interests. In a statement the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “Canada has appointed a new envoy to Saudi Arabia, Jean-Philippe Linteau,”.
