KSA Offers Virtual Health Assistance to Quake Survivors in Turkey, Syria

ISLAMABAD: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) offered virtual health assistance to quake survivors in Turkey and Syria, Health officials said on Friday.

The Kingdom Health Ministry spokesperson Mohammed Al-Abdulali announced that it was an honour for KSA that the country’s specialists in diverse fields working in the virtual hospital and providing assistance to quake victims.

He added that it is an extension of the relief work in which KSA’s efforts are combined via the relief air bridge that the KSrelief operates and supports.

He said that they are supporting the efforts of Saudi Red Crescent Authority members on the ground in Syria and Turkey. He maintained that these specialists included internists, cardiologists, dermatologists, infectious disease specialists, obstetricians, pediatricians, gynecologists and ophthalmologists.

The spokesperson said that they provided essential medical assistance and medical advice to their colleagues in the affected area via video communication.

According to Arab news, the Seha Virtual Hospital extends its services and assistance remotely as per the directives of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the quake-hit region. The hospital is the largest hospital of its kind around the world with a growing live network of over 130 connected hospitals.

Virtual health assistance as part of quake relief

The hospital was launched in 2022 and it was part of the Saudi Health Ministry efforts to digitize the health sector. Seha Virtual Hospital enables patients to visit their local health centre and attend a real-time live video clinical session with top doctors from across the KSA.

Media reports suggest that the KSA is offering virtual health support to quake victims in Syria and Turkey, as part of the international humanitarian relief effort after the disaster.

 Saudi Arabia was already at the forefront of the relief effort following sending airplanes carrying shelter, food, and emergency services, medical supplies, to the quake hit region.
