KSA Launches SAMAI Initiative to Empower 1 Million Citizens in Artificial Intelligence

RIYADH:  The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Minister of Education Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan and Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) President Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi launched the “One Million Saudi in AI” initiative, aiming to empower one million citizens in artificial intelligence, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The SPA reported that the initiative was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development during the 3rd Global AI Summit, held at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Center in Riyadh.

The national initiative, the largest of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aims to empower a million Saudis to interact with a world led by artificial intelligence, ensuring the building of a better future that enhances human abilities and skills. It will enable a million male and female citizens to understand Artificial Intelligence, its uses, ethics, and to train on the skills and tools essential to integrate AI into business and daily life safely and effectively.

The initiative constitutes a significant strategic step towards developing human capital in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), achieving the aspirations of the leadership for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to become a global leader in innovation.
