MAKKAH: A crowd management specialist has said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is a global leader in dealing with and manage large gatherings and crown, Arab media reported on Monday.
Expert Akram Jan said that workers are making their best efforts to ensure the safety of all pilgrims during the Hajj season. He was of the view that the Kingdom’s practitioners are playing a key role in executing the latest best global practices.

Akram Jan said: “The workers in charge of the crowd management system on the occasion the Hajj seasons, particularly in the last ten-year, have become familiarized to receiving and managing with millions of Hajj pilgrims — as per mathematical calculations and fluidity in mobility — on which organizational plans are developed annually.”
He added that continuous organizational plans to enhance and increase the level of service had been developed by utilizing the current infrastructure, in addition to developing a basic database for planning and identifying transport situations in the holy city of Makkah.
He maintained that the Kingdom had become a pioneer in organizing and managing crowds to provide the best facilities and services while also ensuring a smooth flow of people in the space around the Kaaba Sharif.
As many as 400 qualified field employees have been allocated to organize the entry, exit and movement of Hajj pilgrims in the Grand Mosque.
Osama bin Mansour Al-Hujaili, undersecretary-general for Crowds Management said that the system at the Grand Mosque worked to arrange and organize the movement of Hajj pilgrims as per grouping field plans.
He said: “The employees of the department are always executing qualitative programs and steps to harness them and make the best solutions for pilgrims’ grouping.”
