All three sides expressed their concern regarding the current situation in Gaza, which poses a threat to regional and international peace and security. They urged an immediate stop to military operations in Gaza, the provision of sustainable relief to civilian population, and also expressed opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinian people, the SPA maintained. They also stressed that any future arrangement regarding Palestine must embody the will of the people of Palestine and support their right to establish their state and self-determination.

The attendees also confirmed that the tripartite committee would continue to hold meeting. The next committee meeting is scheduled to be held in June 2024 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in response to its invitation, the SPA said.

The SPA said that the heads of the Saudi and Iranian delegations met with the Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, Wang Yi during the meeting.  According to the SPA, the meeting, chaired by Chia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Deng Li, aimed to follow up on the Beijing agreement.
