KSA Impresses World with Organization of 2023 FIFA Club World Cup: AFC President

JEDDAH: President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and FIFA First Deputy Chairman, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, has congratulated to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for the outstanding success in hosting the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.

The mega event concluded on Friday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with the crowning of the English team Manchester City, securing the title following defeating the Brazilian side Fluminense.

Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa pointed out that the Saudi success in hosting the prestigious and mega tournament is a success for the entire Asian continent, the SPA added.

He indicated that it shows the significant support the Saudi sports receive from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the priority given to sports in the Saudi Vision 2030, led by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, , the SPA maintained.

Al Khalifa added that this success enhances the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) position on the international football map, highlighting its competence in hosting international football events.

The AFC President said that it is attributed to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) attractive environment for such activities, advanced infrastructure, accumulated organizational expertise, and a skilled workforce capable of managing the organizational process very effectively, the SPA maintained.

Furthermore, he commended the endeavours of Saudi Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz and the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, headed by Yasser Al-Misehal, in ensuring success for the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup.
