CAIRO: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Egypt have discussed bilateral ties and explore opportunities to enhance further cooperation in mining and industry sectors, Arab media reported on Sunday.
KSA-Egypt ties
The two sides held the discussions during a meeting between Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef and Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir Saleh in Cairo. The Saudi minister has arrived in Egypt to discuss bilateral ties and cooperation in mining and industry sectors. The two Ministers discussed ways to extend cooperation between the two nations to enhance the industrial sector, and investment opportunities.
They also went over industrial integration between Riyadh and Cairo, and means to increase the volume of trade and boost exports. In 2022, the volume of KSA’s non-oil exports to Egypt exceeded SR11 billion while imports totaled SR10 billion.
Bandar Alkhorayef said: “The trade between the two countries is witnessing increase, but the goals of the leadership are much bigger.” Saudi Deputy Minister of Industry Osama Al-Zamil, Saudi envoy to Egypt Osama Nugali and several top officials also attended the meeting.
