According to the Saudi Press Agency’s report on Thursday, these thunderstorms are expected to prevail from Friday through Tuesday.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense has called upon people to exercise utmost caution during this period. They have emphasized the need to remain in safe locations and to steer clear of areas prone to accumulating floodwaters. It has been strongly advised not to attempt swimming in these areas due to the inherent danger, and the public is urged to follow instructions disseminated through media outlets and social networking platforms.
The meteorological authority has indicated that the Makkah region will be among the areas most affected by these impending weather conditions. Moderate to heavy downpours are anticipated, with the potential for torrential rains, hail, and swift, dust-raising winds. This adverse weather may impact several cities, including Makkah, Jeddah, Taif, Al-Jamoum, Al-Kamil, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, Maysan, Al-Khurmah, Tarbah, Raniyah, Al-Muwayh, Bahrah, Rabigh, Khulais, Al-Laith, and Al-Qunfudhah.
In addition to the Makkah region, the Riyadh region is also expected to experience the effects of these thunderstorms. This includes the capital, Riyadh, as well as Al-Majmaah, Rumah, Al-Zulfi, Al-Ghat, Thadiq, Shaqra, Murat, Al-Dawadmi, Al-Kharj, Al-Muzahimiyah, Al-Hariq, Al-Quwayiyah, Afif, and Al-Aflaj. Furthermore, the regions of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, and Al-Qassim may also be affected by this weather phenomenon.
