KP Minister Jamal Pays Tribute to National Heroes on Defence Day

NATHIAGALI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Caretaker Information Minister Barrister Feroz Jamal has said that Pakistan’s Defence and Martyrs’ Day serves as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by the nation’s valiant heroes throughout history.

The interim minister expressed these sentiments during his speech at a ceremony organized by the Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) in Nathiagali. The event featured a vintage car show and a cultural festival, creating a vibrant atmosphere for commemorating Pakistan’s Defense Day.

In his address to the audience, Barrister Feroz Jamal emphasized the deep pride that martyrs evoke in the hearts of the nation’s people. He stressed that the sacrifices of these heroes have paved the way for Pakistanis to enjoy the blessings of freedom.

Significance of Marking Defence Day

He further highlighted the importance of marking this day and recognizing the honor associated with martyrdom, a privilege granted to a select few.

The minister also paid tribute to Pakistan’s youth, who have demonstrated remarkable bravery in both historical wars and in the contemporary fight against terrorism. He emphasized that the entire nation takes immense pride in these selfless individuals who have served their country with unwavering dedication.

Shifting the focus to the development of Nathiagali, Barrister Feroz Jamal announced the forthcoming operation of the Ayubia Chairlift, a move expected to boost tourism in the region. He also revealed plans for an awareness campaign centered on responsible tourism. This initiative aims to ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of tourist destinations, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in their experiences.

The event featured a diverse array of stalls dedicated to promoting and preserving local culture and heritage. These displays showcased the rich cultural tapestry of the region, fostering appreciation and conservation.

Additionally, Waseef Saeed, the Director-General of the Galiyat Development Authority, unveiled upcoming events designed to further promote and celebrate local culture and heritage.
