PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi lashed out at Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Saturday, calling him a comedian.

Kundi challenged the Chief Minister to an open debate on a channel of his choice as the war of words between them intensified.

A couple of days earlier, Ali Amin Gandapur had threatened to drive Faisal Karim Kundi out of the Governor’s House as he had already been ousted from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad if he didn’t remain within his limits.

Reacting to Gandapur’s remarks, Governor Kundi stated that the Chief Minister’s verbal attacks stem from a perceived need to secure his position, particularly by targeting the Pakistan People’s Party leadership.

Governor Kundi said that Gandapur would struggle to justify his actions to his party if his picture with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi were to surface.

“He (Ali Amin Gandapur) will be seen running away like he was seen fleeing from the highway the other day,” the governor said.

Earlier, CM Gandapur warned Governor Kundi to stay within limits.

“If Faisal Karim Kundi does not stay within the limits, he will be thrown out onto the streets,” the Chief Minister said in a statement.

CM Gandapur also distanced himself from Governor Kundi, stating that he no longer considers him a relative, as he does not consider any “thief” a relative or a friend.
