Governor cites security major reason for delay in elections

Governor Ali urged the electoral body to hold general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the provincial assembly on October 8, which is in the country’s best interests.

Earlier in the day, the ECP notified about holding general elections in Punjab.

According to the Election Commission notification, the polling for the Punjab Assembly elections will be held on October 8, 2023.

The electoral body also withdrew its earlier schedule regarding holding general elections in Punjab in April.
