KP 11 Districts Declared Most Sensitive for Muharram

PESHAWAR: Around 4500 worship places in eleven districts of the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have been declared by the police as the most sensitive during Muharram.

The eleven sensitive districts of the province include Peshawar, Kohat, Tank, Hangu, Dera Ismail Khan, Kurram, and Orakzai.

The home department has decided to deploy police and Frontier Corps for security tasks throughout the holy month of Muharram at sensitive and most sensitive worship places based on the information given by the police and security forces.

Strict security in KP

A police officer said that to keep the province peaceful and orderly, the police is supervising security rigorously. The district police have been instructed to develop their Muharram security plans following the specifications.

The corresponding district administrations have been handed lists of the most sensitive worship sites so they can take security precautions. The inner city and numerous Imambarghas on GT Road, Hayatabad, and Peshawar Cantt have been designated the most vulnerable areas in the provincial capital.
