Ingredients
For the Korean Sauce:
15-20 red chillies (soaked in vinegar)
3 tbsp oil
2 tbsp chopped garlic
1 ½ cup tomato ketchup
Red chillies paste
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp soy sauce
For the Korean Marinade:
8-10 chicken legs (with skin)
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp hot sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
For the Flour Batter:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1 tsp salt
For the Korean Chicken:
Marinated chicken
Prepared flour batter
Oil (for frying)
Prepared Korean sauce
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Blend the soaked red chilies until smooth.
Heat oil in a pan and add chopped garlic, cooking for a minute. Add the tomato ketchup, red chili paste, brown sugar, sesame oil, salt, and soy sauce. Cook for 2-3 minutes and set aside.
In a bowl, combine the chicken, red chili powder, garlic powder, salt, hot sauce, and vinegar. Mix well and set aside.
In another bowl, mix the flour, red chili powder, and salt.
Coat the marinated chicken in the prepared flour batter. Deep fry for 1-2 minutes, then remove from oil and let rest for 4-5 minutes. Deep fry the chicken again until fully cooked and crispy. Transfer the fried chicken to a bowl and toss with the prepared Korean sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped parsley. Korean fried chicken is ready to serve!
