ISLAMABAD: To celebrate and commemorate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea, the Korean Embassy organized the 2023 Korea-Pakistan Friendship Concert at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts.
The 2023 Korea-Pakistan Friendship Concert was non-commercial and open to the public. The ambassadors and the deputy heads of different embassies, students and faculty members from various universities, and the general public attended the event.
Muzaffar Ali Burki, the Joint Secretary from the National Heritage and Culture Division, Government of Pakistan, joined the concert as the chief guest.
The concert featured performances by two Korean groups, ‘LAON’ and ‘MOCCOJI,’ who traveled from Korea to Pakistan. Both groups are highly skilled in playing and singing Korean folk music while infusing a modern twist into their renditions.
Additionally, the renowned Pakistani music band ‘Khumaariyan’ and students from the National College of Arts, Lahore, also graced the concert with their performances.
The ambassador of the Republic of Korea shared his optimism about the relations between Pakistan and Korea. H.E. emphasized how culture and music have the power of uniting nations across borders. The Korean Ambassador said this concert was more than a usual musical event.
He said this concert honored Pakistan and Korea’s long-standing relationship and shared cultural heritage. This concert served as a reminder that the common language of music and culture can bridge borders and unite people in harmony.
