Konkani Fried Chicken Recipe

ISLAMABAD: This dish combines the bold, spicy flavors of Malvani masala with crispy fried chicken, making it an ideal snack or appetizer for a rainy evening.

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 ½ tsp Malvani masala
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 quart oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, melt unsalted butter over medium heat. Add shallots and minced garlic, cooking until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Marinate the chicken strips in Malvani masala for 4-6 hours in the refrigerator.
  3. In a bowl, combine the egg and buttermilk.
  4. In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, seasoned bread crumbs, and salt.
  5. Dip the marinated chicken strips in the egg mixture, then coat them with the flour and bread crumb mixture.
  6. Heat the oil in a skillet to 375°F (190°C). Fry the chicken until golden brown and the juices run clear.
  7. Drain the fried chicken on paper towels before serving.
