ISLAMABAD: This dish combines the bold, spicy flavors of Malvani masala with crispy fried chicken, making it an ideal snack or appetizer for a rainy evening.
Ingredients:
- 2 boneless chicken breast halves
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 ½ tsp Malvani masala
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 quart oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a large skillet, melt unsalted butter over medium heat. Add shallots and minced garlic, cooking until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Marinate the chicken strips in Malvani masala for 4-6 hours in the refrigerator.
- In a bowl, combine the egg and buttermilk.
- In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, seasoned bread crumbs, and salt.
- Dip the marinated chicken strips in the egg mixture, then coat them with the flour and bread crumb mixture.
- Heat the oil in a skillet to 375°F (190°C). Fry the chicken until golden brown and the juices run clear.
- Drain the fried chicken on paper towels before serving.
