BARBADOS: Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has said that credit goes to his wife Anushka Sharma for India’s successful win against South Africa at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. They played an exciting final match against South Africa and won by seven runs. This was their second big win, with their first win against Pakistan in 2007.

Virat Kohli posted a happy photo on Instagram with his wife Anushka Sharma to celebrate India’s win against South Africa.

Virat Kohli thanked his wife by saying “Nothing would be possible without you, my love. You keep me humble and grounded, and your honest feedback always keep me on track.”

Kohli played his final T20 cricket match on Saturday, leading India to a World Cup victory before announcing his retirement from the T20 cricket format. This was his last T20 World Cup, and this is what they wanted to achieve, he said. “One day you feel you can’t get a run, then things happen. God is great, and I got the job done for the team on the day it mattered,” he further said.

India won the T20 World Cup for the second time like England and the West Indies. The defeat was almost a certainty for Rohit Sharma’s side but Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah turned the tide for India in the 16th and 17th over.

Virat Kohli was the top scorer for India in the first innings and scored 76 runs off 59 balls, including 6 fours and 2 sixes.  This was a special movement for Kohli, who had just announced retirement from T20 International cricket.
