RIYADH: King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman congratulated the People’s Republic of China President Xi Jinping on his re-election for a new term.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the king sent a cable of congratulations. King Salman said that on the occasion of his Excellency’s re-election for a new presidential term, they were pleased to send their Excellency their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for success, as well as for the friendly people of the People’s Republic of China further progress and prosperity.
The king also praised the two countries and peoples’ relations, which he vowed to “strengthen and develop in all fields.”

According to SPA, Prince Mohammed also sent a cable congratulating Xi. On Friday, nearly 3,000 members of China’s National People’s Congress (NPC) voted unanimously in the Great Hall of the People to re-elect Xi for a third term as president.
Also, on Friday, Saudi Arabia and Iran agreed to re-establish relations following talks in the Chinese capital Beijing from March 6 to 10.
