RIYADH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has approved the distribution of 1.2 million copies of the Holy Quran and its interpretations into 79 languages to Islamic and cultural centres, as well as religious attaché offices at Saudi embassies abroad, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The SPA reported that the distribution is part of a program of gifting copies of the Holy Quran from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, implemented by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance during Ramadan, covering 45 countries.
Throughout Ramadan
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr Abdullatif Al Alsheikh expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their continuous care and support for Muslims worldwide, according to the SPA.
The minister also highlighted the significant and ongoing support the ministry receives from the leadership to fulfill its mission of serving Islam and Muslims.
He noted that the ministry has completed all preparations for shipping the copies to the beneficiary countries in accordance with its approved strategy for this year. This will be carried out in coordination with religious attaché offices and centres affiliated with the ministry, and various Islamic councils and organizations, ensuring distribution throughout Ramadan, the SPA further reported.
