RIYADH: King Abdulaziz Public Library has translated over 100 books, with a focus on works by Western scholars, travelers, and orientalists about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom’s founder King Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.
The SPA reported that the translation from different global languages was a strategic goal of the King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh.

The SPA added that many important books were translated into several literary, scientific, cultural, and historical fields, including children’s books. The library also emphasized the translation of books related to Islamic civilization, history, and library science.
On International Translation Day, celebrated on Saturday, King Abdulaziz Public Library highlights the most important books that it has translated since the launch of its translation and scientific publishing program.

These translations have been from a range of global languages, including French, English, Korean, German, Urdu, Hindi, Turkish, Czech, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.
The International Federation of Translators, constituted in 1953, has been celebrating International Translation Day since 1991 in order to promote collaboration and cooperation among translators across the world and to underline the significance of translation and translators’ work.
The UN General Assembly recognized and celebrated the day for the first time on 30th September 2017.
