ISLAMABAD: The influential sister of North Korea’s leader Kim Jong warned on Tuesday that her country is ready to take quick and overwhelming action against the United States (US) and South Korea.
Kim Yo Jong’s comments come a day after the US flew a nuclear-capable B-52 bomber in a demonstration of strength against North Korea.
US, and South Korea Drills
The B-52 bomber was involved in the latest in a series of exercises between the US and the South in recent months. Their forces are also preparing to restart their largest field drills later this month.
Kim Yo Jong, in her statement, didn’t elaborate on any planned actions, but North has often test-launched missiles in response to US-South Korean military exercises because it views the drills as an invasion rehearsal.
Kim Yo Jong said that the North was keeping its eye on the restless military moves by the US troops and the South Korean “puppet military” and are always ready to take quick, appropriate, and overwhelming action at any time according to its judgment.
She added that the demonstrative military moves and rhetoric by the US and South, which go so extremely frantic, would not be overlooked. These drills undoubtedly provide North Korea with conditions for being compelled to do something to deal with them.
