PESHAWAR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has nominated at least 51 females involved in terrorism and other criminal activities in the province since 2014.
As per the list, 30 females were involved in acts of terrorism, 13 in kidnapping, two in extortion, and three each in target killing and terror financing.
DIG CTD Imran Shahid highlighted the challenges faced by intelligence and law enforcement agencies in apprehending these female terrorists. Cultural and traditional values, along with a lack of sources linked to female criminals or terrorists, contribute to the difficulties encountered in their arrest.
Imran Shahid said that cases have been registered against these female terrorists in different police stations, with some cases currently in progress in various courts.
The report disclosed that 18 females had terrorism-related cases registered against them in Peshawar’s police stations. Additionally, nine females were acquitted, while the cases of others were still pending in court.
