PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur urged the nation to embrace patriotism through hard work and environmental stewardship during a special Independence Day ceremony held at China Window Peshawar on Tuesday.
In his address, Gandapur emphasized the importance of combining national pride with practical actions. “On this Independence Day, while we hoist our flags to celebrate, let us also commit to planting a sapling. True love for our country is demonstrated not only through our words but through our actions. Hard work and dedication are the cornerstones of progress. The more we love our country, the more we should be willing to work hard to enhance its reputation and prosperity,” he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted the role of young achievers like Arshad Nadeem as examples of dedication and perseverance. He encouraged citizens to plant trees and nurture them, pointing out that fruitful trees provide nourishment, shady trees offer respite, and all contribute to the environment by producing oxygen. “Our collective effort towards a greener environment is a testament to our commitment to a united and progressive Pakistan,” Gandapur added.
Gandapur also drew parallels between Pakistan’s aspirations and China’s development, suggesting that the youth could gain valuable insights from China’s progress. He proposed establishing a China Center in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to educate young people about China’s developmental achievements and historical background, offering to provide land for this initiative.
During the event, Gandapur visited a special gallery showcasing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and wrote his comments in the guest book, highlighting the importance of this project for regional development. The Chief Minister also participated in a ceremonial cake-cutting to mark Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day.
A detailed briefing on various initiatives related to CPEC and the proposed China Center was given to the Chief Minister on the occasion.
The ceremony was attended by Peshawar Press Club President Arshad Aziz Malik, along with other senior journalists and literary figures, who were present to witness and support the Chief Minister’s message.
