LAHORE: Khurram Shehzad and Abrar Ahmed have started their rehabilitation program under the supervision of Dr. Sohail Saleem at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday.
Rehabilitation process has commenced for right-arm fast bowler Khurram Shehzad and right-arm spinner Abrar Ahmed at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), PCB added. Abrar, a 25-year-old with six Test matches for Pakistan, recently returned from Australia after leaving the field due to right leg pain during a first-class game against Prime Minister-XI in Canberra. 24-year-old Khurram sustained a stress fracture after the first Test against Australia in Perth.
Simultaneously, all-rounder Shadab Khan, recovering from an ankle injury in the National T20 Tournament, has successfully completed a five-week rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy.
Dr Sohail Saleem, Director of Medical and Sports Sciences, expressed satisfaction, stating, “It is pleasing to declare Shadab Khan fit after a robust rehab plan. Abrar and Khurram have recently joined us for rehabilitation, undergoing mandatory testing to understand their injuries.”
Meanwhile, Multan Women’s captain Umm-e-Hani has been ruled out of the ongoing National Women’s T20 Tournament in Rawalpindi, Islamabad due to injury. Umm-e-Hani, having featured in 17 international matches for Pakistan women, sustained a fracture in her left-hand thumb during Multan Women’s opening match against Lahore Women on January 15.
She has been advised four weeks of rest. Gull Feroza has been named the captain of Multan Women for the remainder of the tournament by the selection committee.
