ISLAMABAD: In a shocking revelation, Khawar Maneka, the ex-husband of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, has accused the former prime minister of disrupting his 28-year-long marriage with Bushra Bibi under the guise of “peer-muridi,” referring to a spiritual mentor-disciple relationship.

Speaking to a private news channel on Monday, Khawar Maneka claimed that his marriage with Bushra Bibi was happy until Imran Khan intervened, alleging that Khan exploited the concept of spiritual guidance to break up their relationship. He disclosed that Bushra Bibi married Imran Khan just one and a half months after their divorce in November 2017, but he and his children were unaware of it at the time.

Maneka revealed that Imran Khan would visit his house without his consent, and he disapproved of his then-wife’s meetings with the PTI chief. He recounted an incident where he reportedly kicked Imran Khan out of his house with the help of domestic staff.

Providing details about how Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi first met, Maneka mentioned that during the PTI’s protest sit-in in Islamabad, Bushra Bibi’s sister, Maryam Watto, arranged a meeting between Imran Khan and her. Subsequently, the PTI chief and Bushra Bibi started frequenting meetings in Islamabad.

Khawar Maneka’s Revelations About Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s Relationship

Maneka shared that his mother had warned him about Imran Khan, stating that he was not a good person. He alleged that Bushra Bibi would secretly speak to Imran Khan overnight on a phone number provided by Farah Gogi, at the PTI chief’s request.

Recounting the timeline, Maneka mentioned that six months before the wedding, Bushra Bibi separated from him and went to her house in Pakpattan. Despite his insistence, she refused to return home. Eventually, he received a text message from Farah Gogi, asking him to divorce ‘Pinky’ (Bushra Bibi’s alias).

Maneka claimed that he sent the divorce papers to Bushra Bibi through Farah Gogi on November 14, 2017. Later, Farah Gogi and Zulfi Bukhari, a close aide of Imran Khan, allegedly asked him to change the date on the divorce papers and keep silent, citing Imran Khan’s political ambitions.
