TEHRAN: The daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were killed following joint Israeli-US strikes, Fars News Agency reported on Sunday, citing sources close to the leader’s office.

The semi-official agency said the deaths were confirmed after contact was established with informed sources within the supreme leader’s residence.

Fars also reported that one of Khamenei’s daughters-in-law was killed in a separate attack on Saturday morning.

“After establishing contact with informed sources in the Supreme Leader’s household, the news of the martyrdom of the daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter of the Revolutionary Leader has unfortunately been confirmed,” Fars and other Iranian media outlets said.

No further details were provided regarding the circumstances or precise location of the strikes.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump has claimed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been killed, although Iran’s state-linked news agency and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dismissed the death claims.
