MIRPUR (Azad Jammu and Kashmir): Brussels-based Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) Chairman Ali Raza Syed on Monday urged the international community to stop the killings and other extrajudicial killings of Kashmiri civilians by Indian authorities in Indian Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Strongly condemning the barbaric killing of three Kashmiri civilians in Baffliaz area of Poonch district in Occupied Kashmir, he said in a statement that the extrajudicial killings of Kashmiris should be stopped immediately, a report released to the media here on Monday said.
It is important to mention that three civilians Mohammad Showkat 22, Shabir Ahmad 32 and Safeer Hussain 45 were tortured to death on Friday morning in the custody of the Indian Army in a military torture chamber in Poonch district, a report said.
Expressing deep regret and grief over the killing of three civilians, he said that we are shocked that three innocent Kashmiris were detained and tortured to death by the Indian Army. Afterwards, their grieving relatives received their mutilated bodies. He added that the death of these three Kashmiris has become a cause of anger not only among people in IIOJK but also among Kashmiris living in Azad Kashmir and other parts of the world.
He said the Modi government had crossed all records of atrocities to suppress the just struggle of Kashmiris for the right to self-determination in the occupied territory of the disputed land of Jammu and Kashmir. The KCEU chairman said that nevertheless, this horrific incident has once again exposed India’s ruthless state of terrorism in the IIOJK. Ali Raza Syed said that this extrajudicial killing is part of India’s conspiracy to commit genocide against the downtrodden people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ali Raza Syed warned that India should remember that it could not yet defeat the passion of the Kashmiri people and that they would continue their struggle until complete success. The Kashmiri freedom movement would continue and the people of Kashmir would take it to its logical conclusion at any cost.
The KCEU chairman called on the international community to seriously look into the war crimes committed by Indian security forces against innocent Kashmiris. He called for an independent international investigation into all extrajudicial killings, including this brutal custodial murder. So the perpetrators of these custodial murders must be brought to justice and given a fair and just sentence for real.
Ali Raza Syed called upon the international community to play its significant role in providing the right of self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the Kashmir issue should be resolved through UN resolutions. —APP
