Kazakhstan’s President Vows to Defend National Interests

ASTANA: Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that as a nation and a responsible member of the global community, they must consistently stand prepared to defend national interests, sovereignty, and independence.

During his address at National Kurultai in Atyrau, Tokayev highlighted the intensifying global competition for resources, investments, transportation, and communication networks. He emphasized the necessity for analysing global events and their implications on Kazakhstan’s national interests, assigning this responsibility to relevant departments, scientists, and political analysts.

He reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to bilateral and multilateral cooperation through constructive dialogue and proactive diplomatic and economic engagements, with a continued focus on integration efforts within the Eurasian space and Central Asian region.

Furthermore, Tokayev pledged Kazakhstan’s contribution to fostering cooperation among Turkic countries, asserting that government decisions on domestic and foreign policies should be grounded in fundamental national interests rather than populism or opportunistic considerations.

Tokayev reiterated his vision to establish a Just Kazakhstan, emphasizing that justice encompasses more than just equitable resource distribution; it involves ensuring equal distribution of rights and responsibilities.
