ASTANA: Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev strongly condemned an assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump and wished him a speedy recovery, Kazinform News Agency reported from the Akorda press service.
The assailant opened fire during the rally, targeting Trump who was reportedly shot in the ear. The swift response of US Secret Service officers resulted in the suspect being shot dead at the scene.
President Tokayev, through the Akorda press service, conveyed his strong condemnation of the violent attack on the former US President.
“President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev strongly condemns the attack on former President Donald Trump and wishes him a swift recovery,” read a statement from the Akorda press service, as reported by Kazinform News Agency.
