ASTANA: Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has congratulated journalists on the occasion of the National Day of Press, reported by Kazinform News Agency, citing the Akorda press service.
In his congratulatory message to journalists in the printed mass media, President Tokayev highlighted the historical significance of this day, noting that on this date in 1913, the first issue of Qazaq newspaper was published. This newspaper, initiated by the notable figures of Kazakhstan and founders of the Alash movement, played a crucial role in uniting the nation during a pivotal moment in Kazakhstan’s history.
President Tokayeve expressed commitment to the ideals of freedom of speech, stating that the country’s printed mass media continues to be a reliable source of unbiased information and high-quality analytics. According to him, newspapers and magazines address pressing issues of the state and society, offering a diverse range of opinions and promoting fundamental universal human values.
The President acknowledged the journalists of the printed media for upholding high standards in their profession, serving as examples of pragmatic patriotism and civic responsibility. He expressed confidence that the national printed mass media will continue to contribute significantly to building a just Kazakhstan, fostering unity among the Kazakh people.
